Suhwon Industrial Corp., of Seoul Korea Fulfills Re-emerging Need for 155M Optical Transmission Equipment
Seoul, South Korea December 16 2003--Although the 155M Optical Transmission Equipment was classified as a declining item due to the trend toward high capacity transmission equipment, the existing backbone networks of the telecom industry in the world trends from 10G to WDM. And, at the end of the WDM network, 2.5G or 10Gbps transmission equipment is used and, finally the needs of 155Mbps transmission equipment will be increased.
FO-MUX 155M, the 155M Optical Transmission Equipment which was recently developed by Suhwon Industrial Corp., Seoul, Korea, is a highly integrated design, with space being only 1/4 of the size of current products. In addition, it maximizes the efficiency of the equipment by doing various configurations as P-T-P or Ring, ADM, etc. according to the needs.
It is more convenient in operation because DS-1 and DS-1E signals can be admitted in the same unit with channel bank for voice and mutual access function of ADM DS1 or DS3 level is supported. GUI mode is supported in the operation terminal for efficient maintenance of equipment of not only the intra-office but also remote offices.
Because of these conveniences, KT, the first carrier in Korea, and PowerComm, the facility-based telecommunications service provider, are very interested in this product and under negotiation with the company for procurement and deployment.
"If estimating the economic efficiency, its costs less and is more compactly designed compared to the present subscriber optical transmission equipment, helping users save on the initial investment for installation, save more space after installation, and saving power due to our products consuming considerably less energy," said T. H. Kim, President and CEO at the company.
By equipping a Dual power module in each unit, the malfunction of the whole system by power trouble is protected and in order to secure the reliability of the network, Ring protection is supported when structuring an ADM.
With NMS program support of GUI environment, the status of modules of each NODE and circuit supervision can be concentrically controlled at a center, and it is converted easily to a higher hierarchy (STM-4) by exchanging the Optical Module.
Soon, it is expected that the needs of 155M Optical Transmission equipment will be increased for singular small capacity PTP or Ring networks, and the FO-MUX 155M, 155M Optical Transmission equipment which furnishes all the technical and economical requirements will be the correct solution.
